next of kin unaware of her late fathers affairs

On behalf of an old friend. I need some advice on persuading my friend to pursue her interests. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Her father passed away in late 2014 leaving no will, and her two sisters applied to the Court of Protection to take control of his affairs etc.,

My friend has not spoken to her sisters for over 20 years and is reluctant to make contact with either of them.

She has telephoned the solicitor administrating the estate, with only a comment of "it's all in hand".

I am trying to convince my friend that the very least she should do at this late stage is write to the solicitor, proving who she is, and asking for any update or offer assistance where required. That way, at least the solicitor is aware of her presence and can't deny her existence.

Would this be the correct approach? Should she do anything else?
I'm going gently gently as she is quite a sensitive soul. I will probably assist her.

I would search probate records (https://www.gov.uk/wills-probate-inh...robate-records) to see who had been granted letters of administration.
I would then write (signed for?) to both the administrator and solicitor involved registering the claim.
No need to send proof unless and until it is requested.
