Free Wills Month brings together 10 major UK charities to offer members of the public aged 55 and over the opportunity to have a simple will written or updated for free.
The campaign runs from 2 to 31 March 2015, and an appointment must be booked with a participating solicitor during this period in order to take advantage of the scheme. The appointment itself can however take place after the closing date.
An up to date will written by a solicitor ensures your wishes are respected. It also avoids difficult decisions and legal complications for your loved ones. Those taking up the offer are under no obligation to leave a gift to one of the Free Wills Month charities, however, we hope that many will see this as a chance to help their favourite cause.
How to arrange a free will
To be eligible for a free will, participants must be entitled to make a valid will in the United Kingdom and have reached the age of 55. In the case of mirror wills, it is sufficient that one partner is at least 55 years old.
Participating solicitors can be found in Blackpool, Colchester, Coventry, Crawley, Darlington, Eastbourne, Hastings, Middlesbrough, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Wolverhampton and London. People living outside of these locations can also take advantage of the scheme.
To find out if a solicitor is taking part in the campaign in your local area, visit the Free Wills Month website or call 0845 020 4309.
You must book the appointment directly with a participating solicitor, referencing Free Wills Month at the time of making the appointment.
