Apart from asking the joint executor/will writing firm if they have applied for probate, I am not aware of finding out about probate until it has been granted.
It sounds as if you are still having problems with the joint executor causing long delays
Last April, in another thread, you were advised to employ a solicitor to draft a citation to either take up the grant (apply for probate) or stand down (renounce executor duties)
That was 9 months ago. Has nothing been done? Are the other beneficiaries frustrated and upset?

There are two executors (Iam one) the other executor is dealing with Probate and sorting out BIL estate, they are the firm that drew uo his will and who he signed up to do this.
The beneficiaries are not upset I am!! See previous post regarding his Tax returns dated yesterday.
I have sent to them all that I can find regarding his income, shares, property etc in September 2023, to date no probate. As I understand it they have got an independant Solicitor involved plus in October 2024 an accountant.
I am asking the question as I am wondering if it would save me the hassle (I am 85) to pass over all of this to a solicitor I know to act on my account, I know it will cost £200 per hour I am told ( Is this the going rate).
There are two properties to be sold at some time so he has plenty of money and the beneficiares are OK with that.

At 85 I wouldn't want the hassle you have had to put up with
Probate hasn't been granted, it doesn't sound as if you have intermeddled with the estate, so tell the beneficiaries you've had enough and want to renounce your executor duties. You can do this completing a form on the probate website
Let the beneficiaries decide what to do about chasing the remaining sole executor/solicitor/accountant
