    Hello guys,

We completed our IHT forms and came to the calculation of £42,583.14 in terms of what we needed to pay. This £42,583.14 is the figure that came from the IHT 400.

We paid this using money from my fathers estate (IHT423 forms), and that all went through fine.

We then received the letter from HMRC along with our 'Unique code for your probate application'. I have now passed this on to probate.

My question is though the figures in the letter are £42,583.60 - this is 46p difference.

Does anyone know why this is the case, has anyone seen this before and is it likely to cause us issues?

Will a 46p difference be an issue? No! The worst that will happen is that HMRC will ask you to pay 46p.....

Hello - thanks for the quick reply! Do you think I should flag it to HMRC? Any ideas how this could have come around? Wouldn't have bothered me if we had aid 46p MORE, its just the fact its less that concerns me,

For 46p I wouldn't do anything. Most likely HMRC just write off a difference that size. If they really need your 46p to help fill the government's £22bn black hole they will ask you for it.

If it is giving you sleepless nights just transfer another 46p to them.
