  • Work place pensions

My ex left his new girlfriend of 8 months everything' in his Will ( but no money in his bank and did not own property). He also stated that his kids were to receive nothing but spelt one name wrong. When the Gov brought in that Employers were to creat pensions for employees every place he worked created a pension. He never joined them up and know who the pension companies are. Can his children claim for any of the funds in these pensions or should they all go to their dad’s girlfriend. I was the nominee on some but we gave divorced. My name is in his Will as not to receive anything but my middle name cited is completely different to what is written.
the kids don’t want to claim for they funds if it should go to his girlfriend after she tried to stop family going to the funeral. They hadn’t seen their dad for just under 12 months and he was also a functioning alcoholic.
what do they do because the pension claim forms ask for a Copy of the Will which they don’t have and the girlfriend doesn’t want any contact.

    Has Probate been issued?

Are the children adults now? Were they financially dependant on him?
All opinions expressed are based on my personal experience. I am not a lawyer and do not hold any legal qualifications.
