An elderly family member was mentioned in a Will - his estate (property) to be valued ( if price not agreed) and offered to family member ( elderly) at a discount price. A third off - if she does not have the funds to purchase it ( which he knew she wouldnt) then it is to be sold and split between a number of charities and she gets nothing - A solicitor drew this Will up and are the executors - Im wondering if she could do a deal with a third party that could purchase the property at the discounted price so at least she would gain from it, which he wouldve wanted. Seems he has not understood the outcome, they were very close
A beneficiary or not

This would depend on the exact terms of the will. I am guessing that the transfer deed has to be specifically in favour of this named beneficiary, not someone of her choosing. Can she buy and immediately sell on at a profit? I am sure that there is a deal to be done with a suitable buyer who can stump up the cash for the purchase.Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. Please read post 2 again. Does the transfer need to be to this named person? If so, it cannot be to A N Other. You have not quoted the parts of the will that answer that question.Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic.
