  • Executor backs off from funeral arrangements

There is a Will... The professional Executor has made it clear that the costs to the estate are not worth it for them to get involved in funeral arrangements and what took place when it went wrong.

I've looked up online but other than statements about Executors being responsible, l cannot find a source to say where this responsibility lies.

    Help anyone, please?

Executor is not responsible for organising the funeral, only for ensuring it is paid for as a priority payment from the estate

Although in practice Executors often do organise the funeral ( because Executors are commonly family/next of kin) it isn't part of their legal duties as executor.

The law doesn't make anyone responsible for organising the funeral AFAIK, other than the local council backstop responsibility if no-one can be found who is willing to do it.

Anything in a Will about funeral arrangements is only an expression of wishes not a binding instruction.
