Can anyone advise what an application for double probate might cost through a solicitor? There have been no changes to the situation since the original probate was granted.

The most reliable quotations for the cost will come from solicitors. Ask some.
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf

I have just read your previous threads about the problems you appear to be having with the proving executor.
Wedlake Bell's article states a non proving executor "may" be involved in decision making. It doesn't state the non proving executor has to be involved.

Grant of double probate is obtained by completing Form Cap A5C and sending it to the Probate Registry. The form has to be obtained from the Probate Registry via the helpline. You could obtain a copy of the form and see if you still need a solicitor. To complete the form you will need to find out the current position regarding estate administration
