Probate question

Hello, I'm hoping someone can advise. Mum died nearly 3 years ago, 2 siblings named as executors...one of my other siblings went online and found a copy of the will and probate document recently as we hadn't ever seen them. We are concerned as the figure mentioned on probate document doesn't include the value of family home, which is currently for sale. Is there any legal reason why this would be? As far as the rest of us are aware, executors are using a solicitor and not doing it all themselves. I'm very confused. Many thanks

option 2. house ownership was as 'joint tenants'.

Have you checked land registry to see who owned the house at death and now, they give historical deeds too.

The property does not have to go to probate of joint owners.

Thank you, I will have a look. My Dad bought the house about 45 years ago, I imagine the house was in his name so will check that out if Land Registry shows records back that far. Thanks so much.
