  • Firm has found money from an estate that had probate and distributed in 2015.

I was an executor for a person who died in 2013 (with one other executor) - all money was distributed etc. in 2015 . The solicitors have contacted me to say they've just been given a small amount of money (2k) that should have been handed over in 2014. The will was quite complex and residuals were split eight ways to people all over the place - all bar one I didn't know and have no contact details bar what was the case in 2014.. With any solicitor expenses there's not actually going to be much to distribute.

The other executor died in 2017 (they hadn't even bothered to check why the emails weren't being responded to - a quick Google allowed me to explain why)..

Is it reasonable to still ask be to get involved? I could have lost my marbles in meantime!

you are still the executor. It may be more reasonable to enquire how and why this money did not come to light earlier.
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf
