  • Any way to speed intestate probate?

Becoming frustrated by probate solicitor in an intestate case; in short, contacted nearly three years ago by genealogist searching for beneficiaries.

Estate assets have all been realised but solicitor has yet to take out indemnity insurance as there are still potential beneficiaries being traced in the USA

Surely by now this estate could have been disbursed to known relations?

Is there a suggestion as to how this could be moved on without antagonising the solicitor?

    Many thanks.

If you can say how many possible beneficiaries there are iin the US, then you can calculate your share.

If not then indemnity insurance may be prohibitively expensive.

Thanks for the response dslippy; others in the USA have been traced but currently 1 to verify, share value is not important, it's the tardy progress that is frustrating! surely local tracing agents of the genealogist should have done this by now?

Does anyone else have a suggestion as to how we move this probate on?

        Thank you in anticipation.

The point I am making is that until all have been traced, your individual shares may not be settled.

Thank you dslippy; is there any limit to how long the genealogists can take?

They can take as long as they need.
