Probably me reading the wrong way. The probate says that all the estate which by law devolves to and vests in the personal representative of the said deceased was granted by the said court on this date to myself for the use and benefit of my mother so I am probably wrong.

I apologise - I have never seen such a wording, but having looked it up, it is a grant under a power of attorney - I assume given by your mother to you. It is perfectly proper but unusual. I never came across one ;like this.
I would need to look it up fully to give you an answer.
Again, the fundamental is that there is enough value involved to support getting a solicitor to sort it out.

A big possibility (or more) is that since the power of attorney disappeared in law when your mother dies, the probate hanging from that power also disappeared. I have no authority for this but it would be strange if it did not. There would therefore no be no continuing grant in your father'sd estate, and a new application would need to be made so that the administration of your father's estate can be completed.
Again, this needs somebody with the apprpriate books.
