  • My sister has been left money in a will but we are unable to locate her.

Hi, hopefully someone will be able to help me.
My sister has been left some money in a will after our father passed, the money has all been distributed except for her share.
Unfortunately our siblings do not get along with each other and over the years each has gone their own way. However where the will is concerned I would personally like
my sister to get her share.
I do know which solicitor she uses and have spoken to him, he was a little dismissive on the phone and just e.mailed some identification of my sisters through to my brothers e.mail address
and wanted my brother to put the money into the solicitors bank account.
However my brothers bank which is holding the proceeds from the will has advised against it until my brother has actually spoken to my estranged sister over the phone.
It has been 8 years since we have had any contact and I have tried to find out where my sister lives and employed a firm to do so, but unfortunately no luck in that direction.
My brother wants to just give it to my estranged sisters daughter, I have told him he cannot do this.
Can someone please advise how I may find my sister to be able to give her the proceeds of the will. Or is it okay just to put it into her solicitors bank account ?
We really don't know which way to proceed and my sister may be in great need of this money as it is a reasonable amount.
    Thanks for reading!

Do not give it to her solicitor or daughter.
