Hi. My mother left a will that is 50/50 share with my daughter. One of the witnesses is my daughters aunt on her mother's side, so her mother's sister who is also named as a banificary incase we both where to die. My question is could having my daughters aunt as a witness void the will as they are blood related.

    Condolences on your loss

There shouldn't be any problems because of that relationship.

beneficiaries would not be able to benefit if they their spouse or civil partner were a witness

Could I contest the will based on this relationship?
Basically I've been the only person paying for my mother's care home for the past 2 years and have spent a small fortune doing up a place owned by myself and my mother. I don't have any receipts but can show before and after photos of everything that has been done. Loft conversions, kitchen, council tax, repairs etc. If it's still a valid will would I be able to claim expenses on the updates to the property with no receipts.

You say your home was owned by your mother and yourself.
Was it owned as Joint tenants or tenants in common?
If the latter was it in equal shares?
