  • HELP needed asap..

Can someone help please!! my father who owned an estate valued at £1.5 million died intestate in July 2018, my mother took on the role of administrator (my relationship with her is not good to say the least) and has done nothing by the rules of intestate from start to finish... anyway to cut a long story short she has now after over 3 years produced land registry forms for me to sign so as to inherit my house and some land.

My question is quite simple the forms in question are Land registry form AS3..? DO these forms give my full ownership of the land/house in question? as I would have said it should be AS1 or am I wrong? the reason this is worrying me is in that my mother wants me to sign the forms, give them back to her so she can then sign and get her solicitor to witness..? which I find very dodgy indeed, I have asked if the forms are indeed correct that they are sign by both of us in front of a independent witness to both of us, she has refused pointblank and states if not signed as she requested I wont get anything.

Am I correct? do I need a AS1, TS1 or is the AS3 the correct land registry form?

    Everyone's help is much appreciated

Call the solicitor and ask if you need to sign with him witnessing. At the same time you can ask the question about the Land Registry form but it should be clear on the form how it is changing.

The laws of Intestacy are very clear In most cases, the estate of a person who died without making a will is divided between their heirs, which can be their surviving spouse, uncle, aunt, parents, nieces, nephews, and distant relatives. If, however, no relatives come forward to claim their share in the property, the entire estate goes to the state.

Far more information if you google it
