Maximum tax free amount my parents can give me this year

My thinking is that a parent can send up to £3,000 a year and additionally up to £3,000 if they didn't give me any cash during the previous tax year.

My parents didn't give me any cash last year. Can they give me £6,000 each without risking taxation if they pass away within the next 7 years?
