Any help would be greatly appreciated.
First off, we live in Delaware. My mother is the executor of my uncle's estate. He passed away a few months ago and left everything to her. Everything is not much. About a thousand dollars in the bank, a car that needed repairs right away (my parents spend $600 to fix it just so they could drive it home), and a trailer in southern delaware that is in really poor condition, on about .15 ac that have also been let to go kind of wild. We've had some real-estate agents come and look at the property. they basically say that it is not worth much of anything. My mom has an appointment with the register of wills in January, but I'm wondering what her options are. Can she just refuse the trailer, but accept the small bank account and car that they have put money into?
Lawyers want $300 for a 10min phone conversation, and won't talk to her until February. Any advice on options and steps that she should/needs to take would be appreciated. Thanks
