  • Dad died - need to transfer shares to his wife

Hi - My Dad died recently, and his will specified everything to go to his wife.
No problem, lots of paperwork and phone calls, but it's all going well so far.
He had quite a lot of shares (not over £10,000 in each company) managed by Equiniti.
I have started various forms to do the share transfer, but Equiniti are saying it will cost over £200 to transfer them.
Is this right, or can the transfer be done for no cost?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ian.

Hi, Transfer fees for shares should be in the terms and conditions when the policy was taken out. Usually there is an admin fee for this, so this does sound about right unfortunately
