Both my father and mother's Wills were drawn up and held by the same firm of solicitors. Myself and my three brothers are the executors of both Wills. The solicitors are not executors of either Will.
Upon my father's death in September of 2017, his Will was enacted by the solicitor. We found them to be somewhat unresponsive and, as we were dissatisfied with the level of service, we have decided to remove our mother's Will from their keeping and engage a solicitor who is at least physically closer to our homes. We are also our mother's attorneys as she is severely impaired by dementia.
Is there any reason we might be prevented from doing this? Can the present solicitor charge us to return the Will?
Many thanks for any advice you can give!
