Hi
My partner is the Executor of her late mother's estate. So far she has been able to perform her duties successfully without instructing a solicitor. Everything has been completed with the exception of one final task: she is also the sole beneficiary of her mother's house.
Is it possible for this seemingly simple task to be carried out without instructing a solicitor?
At the moment we are awaiting the title deeds from the mortgage provider (Halifax) - checking what to do if in England or Wales seems a very simple process, Scotland is proving to be difficult just obtaining the process guides.
What needs to happen exactly?
