Probate problems?

Hi,

I have two sisters and our Mum died recently. We are starting the Probate process through a solicitor. One of my sisters is suggesting that not all Mum's bank accounts are disclosed to the solicitor. Iam trying to convince them that this is not a good move!

Is this legal?
What are the likely penalties for such an omission?

What is to be gained by nondisclosure?
If it is to avoid IHT (current threshold £325,000) don't go there!
