Just received a call from 0345 266 1689 about "your energy survey results".
These people said they were from the Energy Savings Trust.
Problem 1: I have never had, nor do I want, an energy survey as my energy provider does it for nothing!
Problem 2: They have called me every day for a week and said it is not them! It's the same bloody man!
Problem 3: They aren't the Energy Savings Trust.

They are actually the Energy Saving Centre, a company that has only recently been penalised £50k for harrasment and cold calling, had a warning from the ICO and also been had over the coals by the EST for claiming to be them.

PLEASE NOTE: I work irregular hours including nights and sleep in shifts. If I have not responded in 48 hours, please ask an admin to Messenger me!

You're lucky you got a valid phone number. They've just tried it on me but the caller ID was an out of use mobile. Trying to get them to call me back so I can report them.

Yeh I am veeeery happy they forgot to withhold the number!
I called the EST and they called me straight back with the information that they were regularly getting complaints about these jokers!

Does reporting actually do anything, I am sick of getting calls, that start "I believe you have been in a car accident". Im afraid I do tell them in the nicest way to get lost.

          EST ?

Yes reporting to the ICO helps the ICO make up a case and bring a prosecution, like the large fine to that company selling call blocking services to people that were already registered with the Telephone Preference Service.

If they don't hear about then they don't know it's happening.

Report it to your phone provider, if it's a spoofed number which it must be if EST claim they didn't call you, they should be able to trace it backwards & see where it's coming from.
Sorry i'm just thinking out loud, it might be irrelevant, I am not employed in anyway in the legal profession, please ensure you research any advice I give before using it I have been known to be wrong on multiple occasions.
