BT need watching closely.
I use them for my landline, broadband and calls.
As a Yorkshireman, money is important to me. I never want to pay a penny more than I have to.
I pay for the landline by annual saver. I forget what it costs but it's about 20% cheaper than monthly line rental.
BT emailed me 3 months ago to say they were charging £1.75 (from memory) for caller display, which was previously free.
I phoned them and asked them to delete it and they said I could continue with it, free for another 12 months if I agreed to another 12 month contract. No mention was made about anything else.
My latest phone bill shows that my broadband has been increased in cost from £10.25 to £17 pm. I get unlimited capacity at 8Mbps.
I phoned them and was told they increased the price when I agreed the new 12 month deal for the landline.
After much arguing with a chap in the Indian call centre, they transferred the call to a lady in Belfast.
I refused to argue again, asked for my MAC code and told them I'd go to Sky.
"We'd hate to lose you, Sir".
"We can do your broadband for £4.82 per month".
Where do they get their prices from? £17 down to £4.82 per month just like that?
