  • Phones 4 U Insurance for a Nokia 3310!

    Hi,
Apologies if this has been posted on here before. I had a Nokia 3310 on contract with Phones 4 U in year 2000 (maybe 2001). It was with Singlepoint Vodafone network provider,I am still with Vodafone and with the same phone number. I received a letter recently from Phones 4 U regarding my continuing premier plan insurance. Apparently I have been paying £7.60 a month for insurance on a phone that I had 13 years ago. I cannot recall agreeing to any insurance and certainly would have cancelled it many years ago. Shame on me for not checking bank statements more thoroughly, I can only think that it has been confused with another DD of a similar amount. Will I be able to claim this money back? I am furious that it has gone unnoticed for so long but this letter is the first I have heard about the insurance in all these years. Any advice on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated

    Many thanks in advance

I have found the insurance was from Policy Administration Services and article relating to the company that provided the insurance via Phones 4 U was recently landed with a hefty fine for amongst other reasons mis-selling phone insurance. A letter of complaint has been sent.

I had a similar situation at one of my bookkeeping jobs, the company was paying Car phone warehouse for some years, I questioned it and because I did not know who the policy holder was they refused to speak to me. I got lawyers on to it and with 2 weeks £2k plus was returned to the companies bank account from where it had come from as they had taken the money dishonestly, it was for insurance on a phone that was not in existence any longer and they would have continued to collect the money if I had not stopped them.

Good luck and stay with it, you will win, because they have taken the money dishonestly from you.
