  • Broadband Contract problem

Hi, I have a problem with Tiscali that is pressing for charges to date for a broadband connection that was closed some years ago. i closed the contract, moved, ended the telephone contract, I recived a returns bag for the router from BT however, Tiscali claims they have no record of ending the contract.
My initial question is, can Tiscali claim payment to date for broadband use although apart from anything else this is a contract that was for a year.

    Re: Broadband Contract problem

The usual thing is if the contract was for a year, the final bill will be for the remainder of the year you havent completed.

When you closed the contract did you receive/send anything in writing/email ?

      Thanks for your reply
unfortunately I wish i did in hindsight I did not follow it up. There are indicators suggesting they did get my notification when I closed with them. Now they want 6 years back payments plus costs

Well you won't be giving it to them.

What indicators that they did have your notification ?

The return of the broadband box and the stop of boradband service and telephone service might be a good indicator too.

You need to get together a list of dates as near as poss that things happened, and any communications youhave....post up as much as you can and get a letter to them sorted.

          Re: Broadband Contract problem

          Thank you,
It is at court which for me is not the poblem. I will be making sure the magistrate gets my side of this issue but I really would like to see if there is a ruling with regards to contracts, can they be allowed to accumulate in this way. reason is not only for me but any contract withot a proper closing in writing can be persued in the same way by any provider...or am I uniqu in this problem. I appreciate your output thank you
