Hello guys,
I really need some help. Scottish Power placed a default on my account whilst I was out of the country, I was on the other side of the planet at the time consuming no energy and they guesstimated my bills and put a default on my account. I have contacted the Energy Ombudsman with the following complaint:-
Scottish Power are standing their ground on this, I need advice on how I go about getting this removed.
Obviously I did not receive a default letter as I was 6,000 miles away, I was in contact with them via email and they knew this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated....

Complaint summary | Mr Moores has a complaint about Scottish Power's handling of his account. The issues are as follows: • Mr Moores states he sent Scottish Power many emails asking the company to set up a direct debit for his account whilst he was out of the country. • On 29 November 2013 the company put a default on his account and credit file from lack of payment. • He states he complained to the company and requested the default removed, this complaint went on until 2015. • Mr Moores states the company finally agreed due to its error it would remove the default from his credit file. • He says it advised this would be done in 15 days and sent £40 as a gesture of goodwill. • Mr Moores states this did not happen so contacted the company to raise a new complaint. • He states he continued to contact the company from November 2015. • On 9 February 2016 the company advised that it will not be removing the default as it was his fault. |
