For winter 2015 to 2016, you could get £140 off your electricity bill through the Warm Home Discount Scheme.

The money isn’t paid to you - it’s a one-off discount on your electricity bill, usually between September and March.

The discount won’t affect your Cold Weather Payment or Winter Fuel Payment.

Not everyone gets the discount - check if you qualify.

We received our £140 discount last week, as my wife is very much
affected by the cold.

I was amazed how quickly it was paid!
No one should think that they are not eligible it's worth applying, so don't miss out!!
I 've shocked by the number of people in our community who have just shrugged their
shoulders and Ohhh we wont qualify when offered help with their " problems" if you
don't ask you'll never know.

I emailed SSE about their delay in processing Ebico discounts (they are the main supplier for Ebico) and got this reply:

Please accept my sincere apologies in the delayed response regarding your application for the Warm Home Discount scheme. Due to the high volume of application forms received into our office, we currently have a back log in processing these forms. I wish to reassure you that we are working as quickly as we can to have them process as soon as possible.



Unfortunately we cannot provide a time frame for your form when it will be processed but wish to make you aware all payments will be made by the 31 March 2016.



We are currently in the process of completing the application form. Once your form is processed, we will send you out a letter by post to make you aware of the outcome of your referral.
