PPI nuisance calls

I an at the end of my tether with cold calls, mainly from PPI claim management companies or ambulance chasers.

My landlines number has been registered with TPS for ten years now. This doesn't seem to help - or perhaps I would receive even more nuisance calls had I not registered?

I usually block all nuisance calls on my mobile.

I am concerned of most companies having no respect of TPS or someone's right to privacy.

What irritates me even more is the fact that when I request a nuisance caller to delete my number and not to call again, more than often they ring again and again!

I am now considering going to the police. I am looking to report the companies who keep on ringing me for harassment. I'm not sure if this is going to work but the Telephone Preference Service and ICO are both just a joke.

Any ideas?
