  • the latest from Atlantic

    Hiya,

as you all know I have been in dispute with Atlantic gas and electric, i had a debt on my meter and tried to change supplier but they blocked it, instead of updating my meter after an emergency meter change they waited 3 months.

I asked for a statement of account to be told it was all done Via The Meter. I have asked for a statement of payments, "if you want to go to the meeeeeeeter, and press... it will show your balance". I asked for a letter of stalemate 4 times to be told "we arent at stalemate, just go to the meeeter"

I emailed the Big Boss and asked for a letter of stalemate, today, I recieved this..

    Dear Mrs R,

The Quantum Gas meter in your property was origianally installed to recover a balance built up on your quarterly billed meter. This debt wa applied to your meter during the install and was originally recovering.

Unfortunatly, following a recent review of your account that your meter has stopped the debt recvery process. If you have recently required a visit from a gas meter engineer this could be the reason that this has happened.

In veiw of thisan electronic message has now been sent to yout local paypoint outlet to re-apply the remaining amount to your meter, This message should be picked up during your next few top ups.

this was sent 3rd april.. i originally complained 3rd march!!! took a MONTH for them to write to me and let me know why I have been messed about, and if ive read this write, its still not collecting the debt. I've had no formal confirmation of my £100 credit, and I still dont know if my transfer is going through!

I called again for a letter of stalemate and was told, no we are not at stalemate all your enquiry needs is for you to just go to the meter and... I have said will the meter provide me with the reason the debt was never added after the engineer rang them to remind them the meter was in, and that they were aware of the change of meter in December and was told I STILL have now reason for stalemate!!!

    ARRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!

I always thought a utility company couldnt stop you changing suppliers, if arrangements were made to pay any outstanding debt, not sure, i could be wrong
What have the one you want to change to said about it?
