With the recent cuts in energy bills your energy suppliers could be sitting on your money if you haven't updated your direct debit payment.
Whilst foreign owned utility companies must pay back the overpayments in the countries where they are owed, in the UK they keep your money and reap the interest.
To get your money back here's what you need to do:

To get your money back here's what you need to do:
- Take your meter reading to work out your energy consumption.
- Contact your supplier with this information. It must then send you an accurate bill based on this reading
- If you are in credit, request a refund. You must receive this refund within 10 days.
- If you are still unhappy then you can complain to the Energy Supply Ombudsman www.energy-ombudsman.org.uk.
