    Hi jube,

This is not a 'quick fix', but is probably best in the long term:-

      Re: Boiler Problems

      Jube, and anyone else interested,

We've just have ours done. Replacement boiler, cavity wall insulation and loft insulation.

Because my husband is on disability benefit, we qualified for the £3,600.
allowance. The problem is anyone that requires all three dealing with Warmfront will
have the costs of the loft and cavity wall insulation deducted from the £3,600. allowance,
so there leaving a shortfall of some hundreds of pounds to have the boiler replaced.

The trick here is to have someone else other than Warmfront do your insulation - cavity & loft.
We had E-On our electricity provider, but I'm sure other providers will have similar schemes.
These other schemes are not linked to Warmfront thereby leaving you with the full £3,600. to
deal with the boiler replacement. In our case, we have nothing to pay to Warmfront, and
nothing to pay E-On for the insulations.

      Regards,

      Kelsyrose

Do you own the property or are you renting|?
If you are renting your problem is easily solvable, if you own the property then help may be available to you even though you are not on benefits.
Please have a read of THIS it may be of help.

Have you checked to see if you are entitled to any benefits? if not entitled, what about approaching your Local Authority for a Home Improvement Grant?
