Hi .. Today am after some advice on a default on my credit file and an arrangement to pay marker added a year later. I lived in a house and was made by wife responsible for water bill. Never dealt with UU before. We were moving due to hate crime and we were due to move in September 2017. Didnt move until March 2018 new house was late being built. Looked on my credit file a few weeks ago. Noticed a default for £103 from UU. Contacted them and told them did not get bill or default notice.
I was totally unaware that someone gave these "idiots" the power to ruin your credit status. I had no idea they do report to a CRA.

I am up to date with new bill at new house were they are again reporting to Equifax .. I did not even know about this till a few weeks ago .. oblivious !

To me these people who sell you water are too big for their boots ...
I contacted UU who were not too helpful said they were right doing this and that the fact they report to a CRA is on the bills. It is at the back in small print hard to see online. I dispute ever being told and demanded the default is withdrawn. I was never informed and this cannot be right! - Note offered full payment to clear and remove default as unware and they were worried about their reporting and the principle of reciprocity they have with the CRA more than helping they can wait for their cash now they are pathetic!
I have read through various texts etc including the above .. how can these people get away with all of this ??? I have no formal credit agreement with them. Nor would I consider myself to have given them permission to share my data with a CRA. I would have no argument with a credit card issue like this it is all over the bill and you are told at the time of application what happens if you don't pay!
That is not the case with these "people" at UU .. they ask you for your date of birth and I wondered why they go out of their way to avoid telling people big brother is watching. When you give them your DOB this gives them the right to credit check you ??
Given my situation am classed as vulnerable can these people get away with doing this - I have been paying the amount off .. I owe them and they have just added an Arrangement to Pay marker when I complained despite taking money to clear the debt for over a year which they were not recording they were just recording adverse data.
These people are not sending the right data to the CRA and they are just so nasty defaulting me .. at the time I moved the landlord said they would update the utility readings due to my situation
Ideally, I would like to get the default took off .. and sue these people and stop them sharing my data ...
I would appreciate any advice as I won't be letting this one go. Utility suppliers who they think they are ... fuming! WARNING be careful when speaking to them I refused to give my DOB to Eon who didn't credit check me and never formed an agreement .. these people are so SLY...
