  • Freedom Of Information Request Support

    So to give you a little bit of info, context and background I am currently researching a specific issue which is in regards to disrepair and neglect by a Scottish council in their handling of specific council property.
    So I am looking to ascertain the full historic repairs and maintenance history/log of the specific council housing property in question whilst of course not wishing the council in any way to unlawfully disclose any confidential information regarding the previous tenant contrary to the GDPR and DPA19 as that would serve no purpose.
    I have been mooting the idea of submitting a very narrow and specific Freedom of Information Request which may be the appropriate vehicle to elicit this kind of information.
    So we would like to ask this subreddit please;
    1. Is an FOI feasible in this case?
    2. Would this be right legal request for this kind of information?
    3. Lastly is their anyone who has got experience of doing such request?

    You can certainly ask this of the council in question. Whether or not this is something that they actually record is a different matter.
