IP Addresses ????

Silly question for all you geniuses out there, but remember I am a technophobe pmsl.

When a person registers on a site is it the IP address of the computer (say a friends computer) that they do the registering on that shows up all the time, or the IP address of the computer that they are using at the time of use?

If you register on a forum, it usually logs the IP address that you signed up on, as well as the IP adresses you use when you access the site.

so each time you are on a site, it will show your current IP address, not the one you signed up with, unless your on that computer

So if a guest from a DCA logged on from their office it would be easy to spot.

There are 4 results that come back for my account,
Home
Work
Someone else's house
The Strand Hotel - London

Each time I log on it registers the IP address from where I am surfing, guests IP addresses are also logged.

And yes ODC, they ARE easy to spot, as are the numerous Banks and other financial institutions that visit us
