Here is an interesting quote from Patrick Steen at Which? Magazine from the 23rd January 2015 "Hi all, We have made some enquiries in relation to this matter and have been informed that the ASA’s investigation into UK Passport Offices has been reopened following an independent review of the adjudication. A final decision will be made by the ASA Council after the re-investigation is concluded. Thanks"

So the ASA have not yet done with this shambles! There are a lot more horror stories on the Which? website too. Funny that this excuse for a company directs their bully victims back to them.

You need their addresses and other names as well to check on CCJ's - wonder if the people on that list like having their names and personal financial info being displayed publicly.

Very reminiscent of the parking companies listing alleged wins in court on their websites. Nearly all of which, if genuine, are wins by default, and not actually decided in front of a judge.

Thanks to all for the replies. Amethyst, I'm glad you agree with what my wife's cousin said. The quotes from the laws on that matter are interesting; I don't believe they have complied with points 3 & 4 as mentioned above, so that would automatically render the contract void.

The point made above about them making up these 'contracts' seems more than likely. My wife doesn't recall ever seeing the check boxes etc. and there was no copy of a contract or link emailed to her in the first few emails (AFAIK)...

above is a 'contract', a combination of the possibly actual terms (albeit laid out clearer than the site), some complete fabrications, then the signature taken for the passport laid out here to demo a contract you might sign in usual circumstances.

The result is worryingly official looking. But unless I'm missing something, complete bs. At no point was that provided to sign, then a signature added.
