Hiya,

I wonder if the others have received the same claim.

Okay you need to acknowledge the claim on MCOL, and tick the intend to defend in full box. That will as you say extend the time you have for responding to 28 days from service.

Have they written a particulars of claim ? Could you post that up too please.

Did they respond to your letter at all?

Hi aviduser , do you have copies of the documents from court yet - the particulars of claim is the main bit.

Also would you be willing to speak to the Press at all about the copycat website and subsequent invoice and court claim ? We're meeting with someone from the Mail today and if you can send me a phone number on PM (I know you're away) that would be brilliant. If anyone else who has had these letters is willing to speak with the press ( anon or anything if you prefer ) then please PM me so I can pass on your details.

Got a Claim Form through recently so they are now following up on their threats. Not going to go into detail here as I know the low lifes from this business read this forum and probably post here too. I'm glad it has got to this as I see this as an opportunity to really stress test their business model in a court of law. No aspect of their business will be left unchallenged believe me. If I lose no sweat but this has really got under my skin now and I doubt they've come up against anyone with as deep pockets and access to resources to deal with this that I possess.

Exactly, tho for more vulnerable people this could be quite terrifying.

Re: UK Services & Support Ltd Passport Scam

I have the exact same mail and text messages. I've never responded to any correspondence after realising the site wasn't legit. Seems exactly the same pattern, texts to claim that they sent e-mails, never received any e-mails until the carbon copy of the "Charles Mercer British Passport Services" one. I blocked one number that was calling leaving partial voicemail messages regarding court action and overdue invoice but would then cut out as if cut off, blocked it when the second call came in. I haven't clicked any of the links in the mails although they contain personal info in the URL, everything seems geared to make you get in touch somehow but using cheap tricks.

I've no intention of giving much thought or action except saw this thread while searching for their name. If others are reporting it to the police I will, or if you want copies of what they sent me via e-mail.

Thanks for that, did you receive that today?

We don't have a verified court claim as yet, still waiting on aviduser's scans. So I can't say if they will or won't, I'm sure you'll defend it if you did get one, but if you do I'd really appreciate a copy of it.

yep, latest of many, seem to follow the exact pattern described by others. I'd imagine they would be extremely threatening and menacing to many people.

Re: UK Services & Support Ltd Passport Scam

Indeed. It's appreciated you posting. Unfortunately the press are concentrating on a Tax Returns scam for this weekend but talking with them about this passport type copycat site, obviously be more 'interesting' to them if we have a verifiable county court claim. And obviously going through defending the claim will help other people feel less intimidated.

Can you confirm, as it appears with the majority of people, that you went through the process of the website and realised it wasn't quite kosher before making payment and clicked out ? Trying to work out at what point you enter into a contract with them as they appear to be claiming before that point, which is misleading.

TO me it seems like browsing some skirts on the Debenham's website, adding a few items to your basket, putting in your details, getting to the payment page and clicking off the site because you changed your mind, then receiving an invoice for the skirts anyway.

Re: UK Services & Support Ltd Passport Scam

I don't remember the exact details as was trivial at the time, but basically I needed a passport to my hand as had no fixed address and needed the passport renewed for a work trip. The site back then looked very official, the 'prices' were the exact ones described on MSE I think for an emergency renewal appointment, if you googled for a passport renewal MSE and that site came up over any official .gov site (not as google advert). I think I clicked on the renewal, realised something wasn't right and instead called the passport office directly and booked an appointment myself and went. Following this I got a string of SMS messages from "Passport".

I agree with your skirt analogy, that is how it works. It's an outright con. I have no address, but have SMS from them that references letters sent and returned to sender requesting I update their contact details. I'll keep updating with whatever e-mails they send in case it helps someone else out, I'm not scared by it. I've blocked their numbers and never replied to anything from them.

Hope this helps someone in same situation out. They've never shown me any contract, if they do I'll send it over.

2 SMS and another e-mail. SMS from different numbers, one claiming I clicked a link but didn't pay and can call them for help. I've not clicked any link. The barrage came shortly after I posted the points above, it's possible the two guests watching the thread are related or simply some script that sends these threats out automatically. The address is a cheap virtual office and postbox mentioned at very end.

I'm not scared by it but find it distasteful and bullying, would the police consider this criminal behaviour or harassment? If so does anyone know who to call?

                              E-mail as follows:

They ask you to tick some boxes and signed electronically. But I also agree when i landed on the website it's was the first result on google for typing newport passport office. And it was at the time .org.uk! What they do they ignore all emails phone calls explaining you do not wish their services until they have completed their so called services and that's how they base their rights to chase for money! All emails text message are automatically generated it doesn't address anything to each person case. All their calls are robots talking not an actuall person so you can reason with anyone. I for one is a little bit scared of their tactics. So I would really want to know if someone actually received a court claim so we can know where we are at!
