123456, I would say you are OK to email Amethyst with your details - I have. I certainly wouldn't put anything personal on the thread.

What I find sad is that some solicitors are completely without morals. I mean, whoever's advising BPS - if they have sought legal advice - will be taking their fee and running a mile, as even a lay person with prior experience in litigation work like little ol' me can see the humongous holes all over these 'cases':

• Ridiculously overpriced spurious charges for 'services'
• Misleading website with 'disclaimers' in tiny writing
• Prominence is on words, images and buttons designed to encourage visitors to believe they are obtaining a passport directly
• Charging £117.60 for making a free appointment - COME ON BPS, THAT IS WHAT YOU DO. THE OTHER STUFF IS B******T AND YOU KNOW IT.
• Unreasonable 'contract terms' - no doubt drawn up on the back of Travelodge stationery
• Massive and inexplicable inconsistencies and errors in communications and charges
• Massive and inexplicable stupidity in chasing 'debts' that have a fart in a flamethrower's chance of being upheld in court
• Inability to use the apostrophe correctly - this in itself is a criminal offence and means the Website Standards Agency should levy an immediate fine of 100,000 Euros
• Aggressive and illegal pursuit of 'debts', breaking just about every consumer law in existence as regards frequency of contact, reasonable charges etc.

Anyone got anything else to add?

It's unlikely they would be taking legal advice and all the claims that we know of have been filed by Richard Howard himself rather than a solicitor.

From what I can work out, that number is unconnected (although I am willing to be corrected :nod. It seems to be an 'accident claim' /automated rubbish calls that (IMO) you can safely ignore/block

Seems so. Quick check the the whocallsme type websites gives a lot of reports that "have you been in an accident recently" ambulance chasing claims companies are using that number. If you believe the reports.

Yes it looks as if the court hearing is set. If anyone else could write something to the effect that they have also had issues with this company, I could use it in court. I would obviously the same for you, should it come to it. Thanks for the ideas, Didactosuarus. I agree with everything you've said, especially the apostrophes bit! X

then it may be compliant, however ''misleading claims are made about the service '' it is just simply NOT the number for the ''Government's Passport Office'', and th emore complaints the more likely someone will look
into it.


Check number on phonepayplus for that number doesn't find anything - Unfortunately PhonepayPlus does not have any information about the number 09059600300.

I'm sure someone did a screenshot of a couple texts they'd received from BPS but I can't find them now. If anyone has texts from BPS on their phone could they do a screengrab of them ( or photo ) and email them to me please.
