Thanks Amethyst i will do.
I have found all these numbers that are the same company and just in case they ring you , you can mark as blocked or just refuse the call.
There is also a way you can ask your network provider to block nuisance calls.
Or maybe they just change their number all the time to avoid being caught out.

I made the call from overseas as I just wanted the appointment, I already had forms from the UK Post Office filled in and photos ready and waiting, all I needed was the appointment. I knew there was a long waiting time to do it through the post and couldn't wait 3 or 4 weeks in the UK for it to come back so I decided to personally attend the Passport Office. I googled Passport Renewal and their site was in front of me and looked the real thing, I phoned the number and was told to phone another number (unfortunately I can't remember the numbers involved). I was greeted by a female voice asking me 2 questions only, what is your telephone number and what is your email address, she saId she would send a form for me to fill in, which I did. I thought it was a strange way to get an appointment but did it all the same. That was the only time I have phoned them, all other correspondence has been iniated by them, probably to inflate the bill.

I honestly wouldn't worry. If all they have is your e-mail address they cannot possibly issue a claim against you.

Well if it isn't I'd be very surprised!! The T&Cs on the site you linked to above are non-existent

Also shows, as if we needed any more proof, that those emails are just being churned out as en-mass scare-ograms to frighten people into payment, without anyone their engaging a braincell to check to see whether their threats of court action are even feasible.

Just for ref a few weeks back (December 12th actually) I made a complaint to the ASA and this was the reply, which was rather frustrating

I received exactly the same reply from exactly the same person. You are right it is frustrating, as it doesn't sound like they are taking personal complaints seriously, and once you know everybody gets exactly the same response looks rather unprofessional. I replied that they got my message wrong, I actually don't want them to get my money back, just supplying more evidence. I have yet to get a reply, which again is frustrating.

You are right it is frustrating, as it doesn't sound like they are taking personal complaints seriously, and once you know everybody gets exactly the same response looks rather unprofessional. Threaten them with police action, they soon reply to that.

That was a complaint to the ASA, not the passport shysters.

The ASA may be a bit clueless and unhelpful, but last time I checked that wasn't criminal.

Ha ha, my reply to them was quiet firm, but If i'd threatened them with police action, they definitely would not help us in the future.

Sorry was it the ASA you want a reaction from or the BPS? The BPS replied once i threatened police thats all.

have done as amethyst said, ive reported all the numbers and messages to Phone pay plus. This has taken up 3 days for me and now I just want to know we have done all we can. Im sure id enough of us dont back down the courts and authorities have to take this seriously.

Well to be fair its not a threat its a reaction to something that should be illegal yet isnt.

We should be allowed to let them know we are intending to seek help without it being percieved as threats yet they can continously threaten us with legal action.... Really not on.
