Some good news. UKS&S have now removed all customers details from public view so your data should now be secure.

UKS&S passworded one route of accessing contracts back in February but a few days ago we realised that the pdf download link for individual customers details were still publicly available for around 5000 customers. We reported it to Mr Howard, the ICO and TS, and they have now been removed.

The Mail on Sunday understands that Trading Standards is showing a keen interest in Howard’s business activities.

Howard says he is appealing against the counter claim judgment made in favour of Ethan.
Only someone daft and arrogant would be considering that.

To launch an appeal he firstly will need to establish grounds of appeal

Then he will need to file and serve the appellants notice seeking leave to appeal

Then he will also need to ask permission to stay the lower court ruling otherwise the judgment can be enforced irrespective of the appeal

Then, even if he gets permission, he will need to win the appeal.

I wouldnt give him much hope of that, i mean id say he has two hopes and one of them is Bob Hope

Yes. To be honest I suspect it's just PR bullsh*t.

i.e. he felt he had to tell the Mail he was doing that to retain even the slightest credibility in his own head.

For ref, he has also told the other party of his intention to appeal. However as things stand the judgment can go to enforcement tomorrow.

National Trading Standards is once again warning consumers to be vigilant about ‘copycat’ websites – and to report suspect sites – following the arrest of five people this morning. As part of an ongoing crackdown on the sites – which deceive consumers into spending over the odds for government services – enforcement officers from the National Trading Standards eCrime Team raided four locations across London and the home counties at around 09.30.This morning’s arrests relate to the operators behind a website which charged consumers a premium price over and above the official government service that could be found on the GOV.UK website. The unofficial site has been subject to over 500* consumer complaints from people who thought they were using the government site before realising they had been duped into paying over £100 for a fake service.

                              ....................

Over the last 6 months there have been numerous stories in the press, reports on LegalBeagles and other consumer forums, relating to one particular third party website, BritishPassportServices. The website, run by UK Services & Support Ltd, offers to books consumers an appointment at the HM Passport Office so they can fast track their passport. The company behind the site, UK Services & Support Ltd, of Deer Park Road in Wimbledon, asks consumer to pay a fee of £117.60. The company then books an appointment for the consumer at the HM Passport Office. Booking an appointment at the HM Passport Office is free by calling direct 0300 222 0000. UK Services and Support Ltd have, since November 2014, bought over 700 claims in the county court against consumers who refused to pay the fee requested.

                              ....................

LegalBeagles do not know if this company has been involved in today’s arrests, however this surely serves as a warning to anyone involved in running a misleading website. LegalBeagles would like to see the Government take further action and consider a requirement for third party companys offering consumers ‘added value’ to government services and products to be registered and sign up to a formal code of conduct.
I know we don't know if UKS&S was involved in this ... but wouldn't it be good??

I wouldn't be surprised at all since trading standards have been actively gathering witness statements from members here that used the site and were clearly investigating!
