  • dodgy generators.

Warning to all in East Anglia there are some scammers around trying to sell generators.
    They turn up in a rental van or 4 x 4 .
They have, or have been reported to have, " Irish" accents.
They show you a generator working and have several " more in the back".
They then try and haggle a price saying they have been told to get rid by " the boss".
We didnt fall for it and we know of several other people, in different locations with the same story.
Police have been informed and are aware and say that more often than not boxes will not contain anything like the display model.
Its a sad fact that we all need to be more careful.
    Never give up, Never surrender.

Lol. Spose theres farmers in the fens who might want new generators.

Do people still fall for the brick in a box scam then? Blimey.

                  Re: dodgy generators.

It was memory foam mattresses 4 years ago round these parts...White van with magnetic "company name" sticker on side and some delivery driver who`s van was over loaded when he picked up some mattresses...so before he goes back to the office he needs to sell this amazing bargain mattress he was blessed with...he even has paperwork from a real company so he looks proffessional...its yours for half the retail price...the fake labels on the cheap nasty mattress give the impression of quality, the thick wrapping and his eagerness to get back to the office mean you will not have time to check the item is legite.

On- line its a different thing...but in the street, if someone wants to risk buying a too good too be true deal like these scammers try , then tuff luck...your as bad as the scammer for dealing in stolen goods...or its vat fraud ...anyway you look at it , if we are prepaired to deal with dodgy people who are obviously dis-honest and criminal , then let the cash go to the smartest guy...survival of the fittest and a lesson to not shake hands with the devil unless you got protective thermal gloves, his goods are hot lol
