A friend has had a demand from Transcom for Ebay fees, had a look on the Ebay site and found out that they are Transcom-Newmans, address is Limewood House, Limewood Way, Leeds, LS14 1AB
Now he did use eBay, but ended up having a dispute with them. Sold the same car four times before the a winning bidder finally turned up and paid for it, but, was out of pocket 40 quid on listing fees which he can't get back.
Ebay will refund fees if a buyer doesn't go through with a sale, but they don't refund listing fees, so as you can imagine it gets expensive if people don't see sales through.
So, as a point of principle, he stuck his heels in and told them "refund my listing fees or i'm not paying any kind of fees to you at all". Ebay being eBay, they just ignored him, so he just repeated his spiel to them.
End result is they've put his account on hold, not something he's too fussed about, and now he gets a letter from Transcom "Notice of Debt Collection."
Now, from my experience, eBay debt collectors are largely utterly toothless aren't they, because the whole system is flawed in that anyone can setup an account in anyones name and address, and the 'contract' isn't worth the pixels its written in.
Now I had a problem with eBay in the past, I simply returned all their mail "not known at this address" and they've given up after three letters.
Never seen a Transcom one, i'm guessing these too can be similarly ignored unless someone knows any different?
