My daughter (age 3) picked up a piece of glass in Tesco today thinking it was a toy which resulted in a deep cut on her finger.
When my son approached the staff to get help the staff member just said ‘that’s nice’ and walked off. Anyway after bumbling first aid and 15mins of bleeding we took her to the hospital. 4hours later and 1 stitch we got home.
We called Tesco to speak to the manager who apologised and said no main manger until Monday and said something about an In store offer. Is this enough or should I pursue this through maybe a claims company ?

See what the stores reaction is to your complaint.before trying to engage a no win no fee company (who will probably not accept the case as any award is likely to be small)

the store have a duty of care to anyone visiting their premises. Included in this duty of care is a requirement to follow basic standards of care which are often seen in supermarkets such as clearing away broken glass after a bottle breaks in a store,
Failure to clear broken glass would seem to be negligent (although viewing how shattered glass seems to get everywhere in our house one may have sympathy with the cleaner altho this does not excuse failure!)
