  • Just VT'd..need some help

God, what a stressful week, where i've just gone through 101 different permutations on my A4 where I might gain/lose on the VT option.

I've invoked it today, but need some advice.

    1. VWFS say it takes about 4 weeks, is this average for VWFS folks
    2. I need an inspection service in 35 days, i've queried this with both BCA who said "it needs to be serviced", i replied "Its got a indicator light it's not past due for 1000miles/35 days, they said speak to Audi...who said "we recommend" i presume because process might take longer than 4 weeks.
    3. Also just realised I need the emissions update, how will this be viewed on the inspection?

Going to be a very stressful month!

    Hello,

    1. Difficult to say whether its 4 weeks but thats not a reasonable amount of time I would say. If its going to take that long then you could offer to return the car at an auction, with them paying your costs of course. It would also be unreasonable for you to continue paying the tax and insurance for that period of time, again unless they are willing to pay you for it. If they do, get it in writing.

    2. Since the agreement has now been terminated (I presume?) then it is not your issue to have the car serviced, particularly as it was terminated well before the service became due. If it wasn't for VWFS taking so long to process and administer the VT then it would have been returned prior to the service being required. Its not on you to do that but I would suggest you make it clear and preferably in writing in case a dispute arises no doubt.

    3. Wouldn't say that's your problem either, leave it up to them to sort out. They generally look at interior and exterior condition not the electronics or anything.
If you have a question about the voluntary termination process, please read this guide first, as it should have all the answers you need. Please do not hijack another person's thread as I will not respond to you
