    Hello,

I VT'd my agreement with Motonovo once I had reached the half way mark in my payments. A Mennheim inspector came out, did his damage report and collected the car. I had not gone over the mileage limit in my agreement but several days later I recieved a letter saying that I owed them £1333 as a result of the damage report despite the car being worth less than that.

I sent them a letter via recorded delivery on 11th June explaining that I would not be paying as the car was in reasonable condition for a 11 year old vehicle which had covered just under 100,000 miles. Some of the charges are clearly ridiculous, £350 for an after market stereo being fitted despite the face that it was there when I bought it, charges for scratches on the alloy wheels and a couple of other small dints and bumps which the inspector agreed were clearly historical damage.

I received a letter from Motonovo yesterday (dated the 26th June, conveniently for them) with 'without prejudice' written at the top saying that I still owe £1196.81 and I can pay off within 7 days (I received the letter on what would have been the 7th day) or they will pass the money over to a debt collection agency. They made no reference to my previous letter, and they have not explained where they have got this new figure from.

I can't help but feel it is more than just a coincidence that I only received the letter on the final day of their offer. Would anyone be able to give me some advice please?

    Thanks

    Daniel
