  • Parking Fine Final Letter (already late!)

Well, Had my final Notice through,
Had a Failure, Simply went to see my brother in the Lakes, Came back late ona Sunday night Parked on my street wherever there are spaces availabe - Which was on the single yellow line, But there are people there that don't live there taking up our spaces.

Anyhow Had the Monday morning off, so had a little lay in. woke up around half 9 and bam, ticket.
    • This street seems to be the first place wardens hit.
    • Non Residents are parking on this Street
    • They have changed the rules and regulations on the street more time than I care to remember.
    • there are two disabled parking bays taking up mass amounts of room, making there less space for others ( I wouldn't normally mention but they aren't even ouside the "disabled" persons house)
    • A pertision was sent down the street to get this changed before this occured
    • I've appealed on the basis that What other option was there for me?
Would you guys go any further than this with it? I really feel unfairly treated here, but again backed into a corner as I have to pay now (im already 2days late!)

I do also feel like this is one i shouldn't have to pay. It's just free money to the council and it's not like I went out shopping or anything I was at home and I still get targeted. Surely Council should have better parking/be able to suggest where to park. The Street recieves no interfearance whilst I was parked there as its more than wide enough to pass. It's a daily occurance that people park there and recieve fines.

Any help greatful as Im already late with this.

You might take this the wrong way, but the council might suggest an alarm clock .

Unless the parking ticket was wrongly given ie parking restrictions at 9 to 5, for example and that there is something wrong in the issuing of the ticket then the likelihood is that it would stand. You have to gather evidence of where you parked, etc, etc.

I doubt an appeal based on "where else can I park?" would render the issuing of the ticket being wrong.

So what your saying is, even though I have nowhere else to park, no other possible option and I'm outside my own home, waiting for 5-10mins in the car to waiting for a space is renderd as my own fault - if that's the case i will accept it.

This isn't the first fine either! I had some other before I just accepted but they where targeting our street because there are about 35 houses and roughly 14 spaces for parking?? That is a council issue tbh, I mean i pay Taxes and still get that I persoanlly think it's a joke.

What I am saying is, what legal reason can you give as to why the ticket was given incorrectly?
I used to live in an area where it was residential parking permits only, and I didn't have one so I parked 5-10 minutes away from the house and walked to my house.
Is that something you could have done?

this is the thing really, We had been given permits, which I was displaying (albeit the wrong side of the road) but there where people withing the parking lines WITHOUT the residancy permit.

Tbh I am cluching at straws, I have paid previosu fines but now I feel like they are purely taking the ****, If I felt it was justified, I would have paid up and that, it's not about the cash.
When I lived there a few months back, you see parents parking outside my house and walking 10 mins to the school to collect their kids!!. Erm well behind my house was the main road sort of thing so couldn't park there and everywhere really has to have permits etc so would be quite difficult to park around this area.

If some people jumped off bridges would you do the same? There are people who break the law, would you? You understand what I am trying to say? It is irrelevant what others do(they clearly are rich enough to pay their fines) but it is relevant what you do. If you require parking permits 24/7 then perhaps a complaint to the council about enforcement might be in order but unfortunately it does not mean that the ticket is invalid because they failed to do so.

Are there any rentable garages around your area because clearly there is an issue with parking in your area.

I should also have mentioned, the messing around we have had, We had vaild permits, then Signs where put up.
Then Signs where taken down (because at one point we where getting tickets for parking in the Legal side of the road!) Then they where put up again, regs changed, and this was without public notice. I guess I will have to pay this one but they need to be nailed for doing this!!
