Hi folks
I received a Penalty Charge Notice from Hounslow Borough for the parking contravention of pulling onto a pavement halfway onto single yellow lines and the forward part of the vehicle on no lines. Irrespective of this the offence took place on the 29/03/2010 and I received the notice in the post on the 24/08/10 the date of notice being 18/08/10 almost 5 months after the contavention.
Is it really acceptable that this frivolous ticket can be issued so late after the event? I work abroad reguarly and the car is used by my wife and mother in law and we all conceive that any of us could have pulled up their but none of us can actually remember doing so and if we did it would have been due to a baby nappy emergency for my new born daughter.
I accept that it is a traffic misdemeanour to pull onto the pavement but is it really acceptale to issue a ticket so late after the event?
I would be really greatful for advice on this matter
Warm regards
