  • Leased Car with VW Financial Services - Voluntary Termination an option?

Hi, I've got a 4 year lease on a Cupra Formentor which started September 2022, but since my situation's changed and I really don't need the car anymore, what are my options without paying out hefty balances to VWFS?

I read about Voluntary Termination under the Consumers Credit Act 1974, however, this is only seems to be cars that are with PCP and HP. I cannot find any further info on the leased cars. Maybe it doesn't cover leased cars, as we're not a consumer per se and that we're not actually buying the car.

Going on the Seat website dashboard to see what assistance they can provide, seems 3 options are available but none of them really suits me as financial penalties will be owed.

I asked Claude to look into it and lo and behold, the CCA1974 does not cover leased cars. Therefore my options are very limited, if at all possible, without any penalties or substantial fees.
