  • Audi Q5 on PCP with DPF issues - Just over 1 year old advice needed!

Hello! I picked up an Audi Q5 on PCP back on the 10th of February 2023 and done just over 9,100 miles.
Car was serviced 6th of February by the dealership it came from and all was well up until the end of March 2024.
Around the middle of March an engine light came on which at first I had no idea why, there was no loss of power and the dash and app gave no indication what this was.

As such I booked it into the dealership at the earliest availability they had which was 21st March 2024.
It was booked as a "wait with" appointment and on arrival they said it could be up to 4 hours to even get the car on the ramp let alone diagnose and deal with whatever it was.
Ended up getting a taxi home at my expense and was without a car until the 22nd and had to get a taxi back. On pickup very little information was given but the fault was cleared.
Only thing I was told was all codes were checked and cleared, car was put into a forced regen and nothing to note as being the cause etc.

All was well up until 10th of May, same thing again engine light has come on no warnings etc. I've done nothing differently in the period between.
Called the garage again and asked to be booked in prior to me needing the car for an event on Sunday, the "best" they could do was an 85 mile roundtrip to the nearest garage with availability.
Note that my local dealership (who sold me the car) is 5.5 miles away and the next best option is 10.5 miles I found this absolute madness, not to mention no hire / replacement vehicle offered.
After some back and forth the vehicle is now booked in to be seen again at the preferred location but at my expense for a taxi each way alongside having no vehicle for 2-3 days.

I've lost all confidence in the vehicle, it's causing me significant disruption especially with work and it's just not fit for purpose.
One thing I have done is lodge a complaint with the finance company who must have passed this onto Audi as they seem to be taking more interest than normal in this issue.
In terms of how I go from here I'm at a bit of a loss and looking for some recommendations. The utopia option would be to reject the vehicle and look to get anything but a diesel!
I have expressed this to the customer center for Audi and I believe they have noted it down, but I haven't formally declared anything with the finance company etc.

Need some advice really on what to do!

    Hi
Welcome to LB. Apologies for the delay in responding
My advice is to write making a complaint to Audi UK. State the same fault with the MIL has recurred and you are suffering significant inconvenience and cost caused by a manufacturing fault with the car. Mention your disappointment with the car saying you bought it because you believed Audi was a prestige manufacturer and built reliable cars.
Send a copy of the letter to the finance company
Audi rely on their good customer service and do not want bad publicity. Wait to receive their reply
