  • Moved abroad so need to VT

Hello and Thank you for any help.

Our agreement states it is a "Conditional Sale Agreement" Is this the same as PCP? the structure is the same.
We have now paid just over 50% of the agreement total amount and would like to voluntary terminate as we have moved to live in Europe.

Im looking for advice on the best way to do this from a logistics point. The car is currently in Europe and we will need to drive back and take the car somewhere as I do not have a drive to leave it sat on waiting for them to collect.

Can I include in my letter I will deliver the car to the dealer we purchased from on such and such a date? Obviously the current covid restrictions is making it even more challenging

Thanks for any advice. The car was purchased from new, is fully insured and in good condition

There is no legal requirement to explain why you are terminating, so I would omit the fact you are living abroad as that is likely to raise further questions and complications, unless you think it is absolutely necessary.

You can only deliver to the dealership if both the finance co. and dealership agree, but in the most likely scenario, it's going straight to auction so the finance co. will probably want it delivered to their auction partner.

As for the rest of your questions, all is answered below in the VT guide.

If you have a question about the voluntary termination process, please read this guide first, as it should have all the answers you need. Please do not hijack another person's thread as I will not respond to you

      Hi Rob,
Thank you, some great advice, I will take it!
Thank you also for the link. Can I just confirm please, as a conditional sale says you are obliged to make the final payment am I correct that I do still retain the right to VT as long as the 50% is achieved which it has

      Thank you

Yes, you need to read section 99 and section 100 of the CCA.
