Hi everyone, so happy to have found this forum!
Due to Covid rendering me a full time home worker I have very little use for a second car. I'm looking to start the VT process but a little wrangle in the situation is that my car was recently "keyed" by some scumbag (did the whole street).
So my options are
1) Pay to get it fixed myself
2) Gp through insurance
3) Take my chances with Alphera
To be honest I'm kinda leaning towards getting the Alphera guy out and seeing what they say to it. We've been quoted £600 to get it fixed, and we've also been told anecdotally that that is roughly what Alphera will hit us up for. I'd rather just pay them to make the process quicker.
Firstly, do the experts on here agree with that summation? Also, is there any sort of template letter that accommodates me being upfront about understanding there is damage to a couple of panels?
I don't want to phone them as I've read horror stories about them misconstruing your words and putting you through as a voluntary surrender. I'd rather everything in writing.
Looking forward to hearing the thoughts on here!
Thanks so much!
